not that frequent.. its not really fully white screen.. it comes out purple line flickering but you can adjust the lid back and forth then the screen will be back to normal...

For the shutdown part... err when u press shutdown it log off and shut down the window, but thn instead of fully offing the laptop it goes to the bios and start to load the windows again. So when at bios just hold the off/on button untill the laptop is fully off. NEED to be done manualy ..
Other than that no other problems
