England Premier League
Blackburn Rovers: Blackburn are leading the chase for two Marseille players, defender Renato Civelli and midfielder Modeste M’Bami. M’Bami has already stated he would be happy to move to Blackburn and Marseille knows of Rovers interest. The Premier League side will face competition for his signature however, as Spanish side Espanyol are also eyeing up the Cameroonian.
Chelsea: Bayern Munich have moved swiftly to deny that a deal has been put in place to take Franck Ribery to Chelsea. The British media reported yesterday that Chelsea had agreed a fee with Bayern and were discussing terms with Ribery. In actual fact Chelsea’s offer of €50M was rejected by the German giants, who are hoping to increase the length of Ribery’s contract to keep him at the Allianz Arena.
Manchester United: Cristiano Ronaldo will decide whether to try to force a departure from Manchester United once he receives news from Real Madrid. Once Madrid’s new coach Manuel Pellegrini has held talks with Florentino Perez regarding the players he would like to see at the Bernabeu, Perez will ask him if he wants Ronaldo.
Italy Serie A
AC Milan: AC Milan have sold playmaker Yoann Gourcuff to Bordeaux for a fee believed to be in the region of €15M. Gourcuff had been on loan at the Ligue 1 outfit this season, and helping them to secure a Champions League spot for next season made sure Bordeaux had the funds to buy the youngster.
Juventus: David Trezeguet is fast becoming the subject of a transfer war. Marseille, Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are all very interested in taking the striker from Juventus. However, the smart money is on the Frenchman staying in Serie A by making the move to Roma. Matters are further complicated by the fact that Juventus have yet to place an asking price on his head.
Spain La Liga
Real Madrid: A radio station in Spain suggests that Real Madrid have ended their hopes of trying to tempt Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to the Bernabeu. Instead, Florentino Perez has targeted Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini, who has agreed to the incoming president’s offer, and will be unveiled as Juande Ramos’s replacement on Tuesday next week.
Germany Bundesliga
Bayer Leverkusen: Leverkusen have completed the signing of Swiss player Eren Derdiyok from Basel. The 20 year-old penned a four-year deal at the German side.
Wolfsburg: Wolfsburg have signed Danish midfielder Thomas Kahlenberg from French side Auxerre. The player has signed a four-year deal with the newly crowned German champions.
Turkey Super Lig
Besiktas: Brazilian striker Bobo has been heavily linked with a move to Greek champions Olympiacos. However, despite many media outlets suggesting the deal is all but done, Italy and Serie A is thought to remain Bobo’s preferred destination, if a big enough club shows an interest in the player. Otherwise he will be prepared to leave Turkey for Greece.

Gareth Barry favours £12million Arsenal transfer
According to the Daily Star, Gareth Barry has set his heart on a move to Arsenal Football Club.
Last summer the England international was eager to sign for Liverpool, but the potential transfer broke down when the Reds refused to meet the £18million asking price.
Barry has just twelve months remaining on his Aston Villa contract and the Midlands side would now accept a reduced fee of £12million, but reports suggest Rafael Benitez has cooled his interest.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are both said to be interested in the player, but as neither have qualified for the Europa League, he may see this as a backwards step.

Arsenal, Chelsea & Liverpool disappointed if Real line up deal for whizz-kid?
Former France international Zinedine Zidane reckons his ex-club Real Madrid should snap up Lille midfielder Eden Hazard.
Speaking to De Morgen, the French legend said: "I would take Hazard to Madrid with my eyes closed."
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he's monitoring the 18-year-old, while Chelsea, Liverpool and Barcelona are also thought to be interested.
"Interest from Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool? That brings great pleasure," Hazard told Le 10 Sport.
"But I'm a Lille player. Everything is fine here. I just want one thing, to carry on here."
When asked whether there was any club he had always dreamed of playing for, he replied, "Arsenal and Real Madrid. I'd prefer to join them, rather than Barcelona or Chelsea."

Aguero all set for Chelsea move
Atletico Madrid favourite Sergio Aguero looks set to join Chelsea according to newspaper reports in England.
The Daily Mail tabloid has revealed that the Argentina international is ready to reject the advances of Italian giants Inter Milan - who are coached by former Blues boss Jose Mourinho - in favour of a massive 50million pounds move to the Barclays Premier League.
Aguerro has enjoyed a stellar season with Atletico, bagging 21 goals in a campaign that culminated in the Vicente Calderon outfit qualifying for next season's Champions League competition thanks to their 3-0 success against Almeria on Saturday.
Besides Inter, news of Aguero's apparently imminent departure for Chelsea is also sure to disappoint Premier League moneybags Manchester City who had been keen to secure the striker's services.
Aguero's arrival in England is likely to coincide with Chelsea's appointment of Italian Carlo Ancelotti as their new coach and comes only weeks after Aguero seemingly committed his future to Atletico.
"People can think what they want but the club and I know very well what we want," the forward said last month.
"It's the club that will decide whether or not I stay. I have always said that Atletico Madrid have always treated me very well and the club knows that I want to continue here.

Chelsea make unsuccessful bid for Villa
05.06.09 | Ian Ferris
Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague claims that Chelsea have lodged an unsuccessful £40 million bid for Valencia striker David Villa.
Balague told Sky Sports News, "There will be an offer for Villa (from Real Madrid) next week, which means that there will be another Chelsea versus Real Madrid fight because Chelsea have put an offer to Valencia of £40m, which Valencia have not accepted."
He continued by saying that should the decision be left to Villa, then he will likely choose Madrid. "The player wants to go to Real Madrid and it's only a matter of days (until he does)."

Arsenal's Adebayor received offers but not from Milan
05.06.09 | Ian Ferris
Emmanuel Adebayor's agent has refuted press suggestions his client is on the brink of a move to Milan.
Reports claimed the Rossoneri were preparing a £15 million bid for the striker.
The player’s agent, Stephane Courbis, admitted several clubs were interested in the Togo international hitman, but not as yet Milan.
"Yesterday I met with Arsene Wenger, but we did not talk about a possible sale because at the moment there is no offer on the table that interests us," he told Calcio Mercato.
"The Milan owners have made no contact with me. There are other offers, but none that Emmanuel finds interesting. It is not right to talk about things at the moment because Ade is an Arsenal player."

Manchester City Target Wolfsburg Striker Edin Dzeko - Report
The man who seemed set to snub Chelsea yesterday and commit to another year in Germany, may now be on the Mancunians' radar...
German football's Players' Player of the Year, VfLWolfsburg forward Edin Dzeko, a Bosnian international, is now on the transfer radar of fiscal superpower Manchester City, according to reports in The Manchester Evening News.
Mark Hughes, having secured the services this week of England international midfielder Gareth Barry from Aston Villa for £12 million, is known to be keen to add to his striking options, with hot prospect Daniel Sturridge, reportedly a target for Chelsea.
That would leave the Citizens short of physical presence up top, with Craig Bellamy as their front-line striker. Hughes tried to sign Blackburn's Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn Rovers in January, but that particular trail seems to have gone cold now.
Atr 6'3", Dzeko, who netted 30 goals in 33 games in all competitions for Wolfsburg last season, would certainly add some strength and aerial power, as well as an eye for goal, to the Citizens' forward line. He also recorded 10 assists for the Wolves.
City's scouts are reported to have watched the Bosnian on several occasions, with a £9 million fee being expected to be the striker's price tag. Wolfsburg paid out a third of that when they signed the player from FK Teplice in 2007.
He has played 17 times for his country, netting 12 goals. Although also linked with Chelsea, City, backed by the wealth of the Abu Dhabi Group, will not be intimidated by their southern rivals' spending power.

Arsenal Target Juventus Duo Buffon & Chiellini - Report
The Gunners are eyeing both men, according to the latest rumours in both the British and Italian press...
Rumours linking Arsenal with moves for Giorgio Chiellini and Gianluigi Buffon have resurfaced in the English press, according to Tuttomercatoweb.com.
According to the report, two British papers have claimed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is devising a plan to lure the Bianconeri duo to London. It's not the first time the Gunners have been linked with the Juve defender. He was also the subject of great speculation during last summer's transfer market.
In addition, voices claim Wenger has also added Buffon to his summer wish list with a €20million bid being touted for the goalkeeper.
Juventus have always maintained they would not sell their star duo. Both men are a big part of the club's plans for the future, and it seems highly unlikely that they would be willing to sell.
Also, the reported €20m figure for Buffon seems a far cry from what the club are likely to demand for their man according to reports around Italy. It was not too long ago that Juve reportedly rejected a massive €75m bid from Manchester City for the custodian.

OFFICIAL: Kaka Signs For Real Madrid
The Brazilian has completed his long-anticipated move to the Merengues...
9 Jun 2009 01:00:20
Brazilian international Kaka has finally made the switch from AC Milan to Real Madrid.
The Spanish media have been claiming the deal, worth approximately €65 million, had been as good as done for some time, but it has now finally been confirmed by Real Madrid and AC Milan.
Real Madrid's statement read:
"Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite, Kaka, is a Real Madrid player after an agreement was reached with AC Milan. The Brazilian footballer has now successfully passed all medical tests. Kaka has signed a contract with Real Madrid for the next six seasons."
Meanwhile, AC Milan's statement read:
"From next season, Kaka will play at Real Madrid. Milan thank Kaka the man and the great champion for his decisive contribution to the many victories over the last six years.
"It will be very difficult to fill the void that Kaka will leave, as he is a shining example of commitment and professionalism. A. C. Milan, on behalf of the Rossoneri managers, players and supporters, send him the most cordial and affectionate wishes for the continuation of his sporting career."
The Move
Los Blancos gave Kaka a medical today, flying a doctor out to meet the former Sao Paulo man while he was on international duty with Brazil.
The deal was made official after the 27-year-old spoke with Milan president Silvio Berlusconi over the telephone, although Milan officials have been reluctantly admitting over the pat few days that there was the possibility their player could leave the San Siro.
Kaka joined Milan in 2003, winning the Ballon d'Or during his time with the club and playing a starring role in the 2004 Scudetto and 2007 Champions League triumphs.
Newly elected Real Madrid president Florentino Perez promised to bring in big names after taking over, in order to restore the club to it's former glory after their inability to challenge for Europe's top prize in recent seasons. It appears that Kaka was the first name on his list.

Juventus will not allow Buffon to move to Arsenal
09.06.09 | Andrew Slevison
Juventus are unlikely to let goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon move to Arsenal according to his agent Paolo Fabbri.
Recent reports have suggested the Gunners were scheming to get Buffon to Emirates Stadium but it seems increasingly unlikely Juventus will allow any move.
“I saw something in the newspapers but I don’t think that he will move from Juventus,” Paolo Fabbri told setanta.com.
“He was quite near to Manchester City a few months ago, in January, but then at the end of the day he decided to stay there.
“There was only an enquiry, nothing more.
“Only some crazy offer completely outside of the market can make him and Juventus change their minds.”

Chelsea set to miss out on Valencia's Villa
12.06.09 | Ian Ferris
David Villa of Valencia seems set to join Real Madrid after his club Valencia reportedly turned down an offer from Chelsea.
Chelsea's Spanish scout, Juan Cruz Sol, met with Los Che president Manuel Llorente on Thursday and said after the meeting to Valencian newspaper Levante: "Chelsea made an important offer for him (Villa).
"But the answer (from Valencia) was 'no' because negotiations with Real Madrid are very advanced.
"Hence, there's no possibility that Villa will go to Chelsea because he wants to go to Real Madrid.
"The purpose of the meeting was to have some contact and know with certainty what Villa's situation is.
"Now we have clear ideas and we know that to expect."
Valencia president Manuel Llorente revealed an offer for the striker had been received but refused to confirm whether it was from Chelsea.
He told regional newspaper Las Provincias: "Yes, we have an offer for Villa but not from Spain."

Manchester United have accepted an £80m ($131.6m or €93.9m) offer from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo.
A statement on the United website confirmed that a deal for the 24-year-old should be completed by the end of the month.
• Editor John Brewin on the inevitability of Ronaldo's £80m move to Real Madrid
''Manchester United have received a world-record, unconditional offer of £80m for Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid.
''At Cristiano's request - who has again expressed his desire to leave - and after discussion with the player's representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player.
''Matters are expected to be concluded by June 30. The club will not comment until further notice.''
Ronaldo has long been a target for the Spanish giants, whose president Florentino Perez vowed earlier this week to do ''everything possible'' to take the forward to the Bernabeu. The club now hope to agree personal terms with Ronaldo in the next few days.
The 24-year-old is currently on holiday in Los Angleles and told U.S. broadcaster Fox Sports that he was "flattered" by Madrid's interest.
"It's flattering when two of the top teams in the world want you to play for them. The deal is historic. €93m is quite a sum of money.
"I learned about the deal here in L.A. and have heard from my people that Manchester United has accepted. However I have also been told that Madrid want to have a medical team look at me as expected."
It is now certain that a second era of galacticos has begun at Madird, with news of Ronaldo's £80m deal coming in the same week that Perez agreed a £59m deal ($97m or €69m) to sign Kaka. Which means in less than a week, Madrid have committed to spending an incredible £139m ($228m or €162.9m) on just two players.
In Perez's previous stint as Madrid president he oversaw the acquisitions of global stars Ronaldo (£23.2m), David Beckham (£24.5m), Luis Figo (£37m), as well as Zinedine Zidane in what was a then world record of £46.7m.
The news is bound to be greeted with some scepticism by United fans who have repeatedly been told no deal had been agreed for the sale of FIFA's World Player of the Year. That came in the face of regular statements from Spain that the former Sporting Lisbon star was bound for the Bernabeu.
It was even suggested Ronaldo would be due upwards of £20m in compensation from Real if the deal did not go through by June 30, the date United now state themselves is when they expect matters to be concluded.
As it now seems a matter of when, rather than if, a world record transfer will be completed, Sir Alex Ferguson might wish to explain why he has gone back on his famous comment in December last year that he would not ''sell that mob a virus''.
It is the first time for many years United would have allowed a player to leave they were not happy about losing.
Yet some supporters may be pleased that at least another drawn-out transfer saga, such as the one 12 months ago, will not be played out in public.
At least the money could be reinvested in a squad that almost proved good enough to win back-to-back Champions League trophies, in addition to a hat-trick of Premier League titles.
In reshaping a squad that looked almost certain to lose Carlos Tevez as well, though the cash from Real Madrid may change that, Ferguson might be able to offer Wayne Rooney a more permanent central striking role and fulfil the promise he has shown on the international stage this season.
The name of Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery is bound to crop up as a potential replacement, although the 27-year-old seems hugely overpriced at the £40m figure being bandied about in some quarters. Wigan's Antonio Valencia has long been touted as a summer signing.
Ferguson will certainly be making plans already to ensure his new faces are on board before United head to Asia for their pre-season tour in five weeks.
Amid the frenzy over Ronaldo's impending departure, it is bound to be asked whether the current debt hanging over United of almost £700m has played any part in the decision to accept Real's huge bid.
While Ferguson has always backed the Glazer family for the backing he has received, supporters will now be interested to see whether their manager is handed all the funds received from Spain, plus an annual transfer kitty said to be around £25m.
With Edwin van der Sar, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Gary Neville all reaching the end of their careers, it promises to be a far more testing summer than Ferguson might have realised.
And, for all the petulance and pouting for which Ronaldo is so famed, filling the void created by the loss of his immense talent may prove difficult

Karim Benzema Will Not Depart Lyon This Summer – Jean-Michel Aulas
Les Gones’ president has firmly asserted that Benzema will still be plying his trade at the Stade Gerland next season.
Jean-Michel Aulas, president of Olympique Lyonnais, has moved to confirm that star forward Karim Benzema will remain with les Gones until after the 2010 World Cup.
Benzema has been the subject of a great deal of transfer speculation over his relatively short senior career and even stated in March that he would remain with Lyon until the end of the 2009-10 season. Whispers regarding his future noticeably died after such an assertion, but Aulas has moved to confirm that there will no transfer activity this summer regarding the 21-year-old.
“I saw his father and agent at the beginning of the week,” the president told Le Progres. “We spoke a lot and it’s true that there are many clubs after him, but only after the World Cup. We interrogated his agent and we are not under the impression that he will leave in the short term.”
Benzema has been linked with a plethora of European juggernauts, including Manchester United, who will be starting to consider life after Cristiano Ronaldo, and Barcelona, who were reputedly hot on the young forward’s tail during the spring. Meanwhile, Inter are reportedly chasing 'Benzinho' as a potential replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who could move to Barca.
However, Aulas’ recent comments should finally quash any doubts over Benzema’s short-term future.

Alex Ferguson starts spending the Cristiano Ronaldo windfall
By staff writers
June 12, 2009
Sir Alex Ferguson has already started spending his $160m windfall from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo, by purchasing Wigan's Ecuador international Antonio Valencia.
Press reports in the UK indicate that Ferguson has agreed a $35m fee for the 23-year-old winger, who is expected to sign a five-year deal in the next few days, subject to a medical.
Other transfer priorities for Ferguson will include keeping Carlos Tevez at Old Trafford. Tevez and his agent are thought to favour a move to Liverpool, but the cash-strapped Merseyside club wouldn't be able to meet the $50m asking fee. There could also be competition from Manchester City who have previously expressed an interest in the Argentine striker.
Another player very much on the Old Trafford radar is 21-year-old France international Karim Benzema. The Lyon striker would cost around $50m, but is already a proven force in the game, having scored 48 goals in two seasons for the French club.
Arsenal offer big money for Barcelona's Toure
Arsenal are ready to spend big to land Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure.
Toure's brother, Kolo, plays at Arsenal and has urged the midfielder to join him in London.
Sport says Arsenal are willing to offer £16 million for the Ivory Coast international, whose agent has already given the green light to the move.

whose next after ronaldo and kaka??
Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Inter)
Possible Destination: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United
The Super Swede, who was top scorer in Italy last season, has gone public with his desire to leave Serie A and try out a new experience abroad. Ibrahimovic is desperate to win the Champions League, and some sections of the press believe that a deal has already been done for him to join Barcelona, although Real Madrid and Man Utd are also in the reckoning.

Douglas Maicon (Inter)
Possible Destination: Real Madrid
Maicon and his agent have both told the press this week that they are unhappy about the Brazilian being under-appreciated by the Nerazzurri. Real Madrid are known admirers of the star, who is arguably the best right-back in the world, and there has been much talk of a €40 million bid, possibly including Wesley Sneijder. With Inter already possessing a ready-made replacement in wonderkid Davide Santon, this transfer is not impossible.
David Trezeguet (Juventus)
Possible Destination: Roma, Milan, Napoli, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Lyon, Marseille
After almost a decade in Turin, it seems that the prolific Frenchman’s relationship with Juventus has broken down. No longer guaranteed a starting place, due to the presence of Amauri, Trezeguet will not play second fiddle, and a summer exit seems likely, despite comments to the contrary today by the 31-year-old’s agent.
Andrea Pirlo (Milan)
Possible Destination: Chelsea
Often described as the best deep-lying playmaker in the world, Pirlo has been in indifferent form over the past two seasons, and there are murmurings that new Milan coach Leonardo may not fancy him. The departed Carlo Ancelotti is said to want Pirlo at his new club Chelsea, and the player himself refused to rule out the move earlier this week. Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani has declared that Pirlo will stay at Milan 99.9 per cent, but he also said that about Kaka and Andriy Shevchenko.

Samuel Eto’o (Barcelona)
Possible Destination: Inter, Manchester City, Chelsea, Milan
Eto’o had a stunning season in 2008-09, but it is very likely he will depart this summer. Barcelona attempted to offload the Cameroonian last year, and they will do the same this time around. All the talk is of a swap deal involving Inter’s Ibrahimovic, and all that is reportedly preventing the transfer from become official is the signature of Eto’o. Manchester City are also interested, and to a lesser extent Chelsea and Milan.
David Villa (Valencia)
Possible Destination: Real Madrid
The Spanish media are certain that, following the signings of Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo, David Villa will then become the next member of the Real Madrid Galacticos. With Valencia in desperate financial trouble, star man Villa will have to be sold, and the striker has made it clear that he only wants to join Real Madrid.

David Silva (Valencia)
Possible Destination: Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus, Inter
Despite Valencia president Manuel Llorente’s declaration that Silva was not for sale, the Spanish press believe that the Euro 2008 star will also be sold in order to balance the books. The attacking midfielder has been most heavily linked with Real Madrid and Liverpool, but Chelsea, Juventus and Inter may also be in with a shout.
Arjen Robben (Real Madrid)
Possible Destination: Milan, Inter, Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City
The main casualties of Florentino Perez’s Galacticos spending spree are likely to be Real Madrid’s Dutch contingent, with Wesley Sneijder, Rafael van der Vaart, Royston Drenthe and Robben all set to be sold. A fit Robben is one of the best players in the world, and there will be no shortage of clubs ready to take a chance on him.
Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid)
Possible Destination: Inter, Chelsea
After a stunning 2007-08 season, Aguero toiled for periods last term. Nevertheless the Argentine is one of the best young forwards in the world, and it is only a matter of time until he leaves Atletico for one of Europe’s real giants. For a long time, Inter were the favourites to snap him up, but Chelsea are now ahead in the queue, and are rumoured to have tabled a bid in excess of €50m.

Xabi Alonso (Liverpool)
Possible Destination: Real Madrid
Despite being the best player in the Premier League last season, Xabi Alonso and Rafa Benitez simply do not get on and, having tried to offload the midfielder in the summer of 2008, the Liverpool gaffer is unlikely to fail this time around. Real Madrid are well-known admirers, and the Spanish media expects Alonso to sign for the Blancos within the next few weeks.
Emmanuel Adebayor (Arsenal)
Possible Destination: Milan, Man City
After very nearly leaving the club in the summer of 2008, Adebayor played almost the whole of the 2008-09 season as if he wished he had departed. The former Monaco man has compared Milan to American signer/actress Beyonce, although in recent weeks the Rossoneri seem to have directed their attention to Edin Dzeko. Nevertheless, with Wolfsburg currently refusing to sell, Adebayor is still a very possible purchase. Manchester City are also willing to throw millions at the striker, and following Adebayor’s recent comments that he mainly plays football for money, this transfer cannot be ruled out either.

Gael Clichy (Arsenal)
Possible Destination: Real Madrid, Milan
Despite a disappointing 2008-09 campaign, much like Adebayor, few will doubt the ability and potential of Clichy. Real Madrid are on the lookout for a top-class left back, and Clichy is currently top of their shortlist. Milan are also long-term admirers, and they have money to spend following the sale of Kaka. The presence of former Gunner Mathieu Flamini may also be a tipping point.
Franck Ribery (Bayern Munich)
Possible Destination: Real Madrid, Barca, Chelsea, Man Utd, Inter, Milan
Undoubtedly one of Europe’s best players, speculation is rife that Ribery wants to quit Bayern. The English press believe that Sir Alex Ferguson wants the Frenchman to replace Cristiano Ronaldo, while the Spanish media are adamant that his next destination will be Real Madrid or Barcelona. The two Milanese clubs are less likely options.

Karim Benzema (Lyon)
It is perhaps more likely at this stage that Benzema will leave Lyon after the 2010 World Cup, but with all the money flying around Europe, a big bid could certainly see the youngster move a year earlier than planned. Benzema could prove to be the replacement of Eto’o at Barca, Ronaldo at United, Ibrahimovic at Inter, or Kaka at Milan. Watch this space.
Possible Destination: Barcelona, Man Utd, Inter, Milan
Edin Dzeko (Wolfsburg)
Possible Destination: Milan, Inter, Chelsea, Manchester City
The revelation of European football this calendar year, Dzeko was undoubtedly the best player in the Bundesliga last season, and he looks like a real star of the future. It is no secret that Milan want Dzeko, and that Dzeko wants Milan – a pre-contract is already believed to have been signed. All that is stopping the transfer being completed is Wolfsburg’s refusal to sell. Given player power today, it will be difficult for the Germans to hold off Milan. Inter, Chelsea, and Manchester City are all waiting in the wings should Milan not meet Wolfsburg’s asking price.

Inter's Massimo Moratti: No Ibrahimovic Offers, Maicon Stays, Deco & Carvalho In
The Nerazzurri patron has discussed Inter’s transfer market plans, but there is still uncertainty around the future of ‘Ibra’.
Inter president Massimo Moratti has discussed Inter's transfer market dealings this summer, revealing that no offers have been made for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, while Chelsea pair Deco and Ricardo Carvalho are likely to be snapped up by the Milan outfit. In addition, Maicon is going nowhere.
Swedish ace Ibrahimovic is keeping the Nerazzurri on their toes after refusing to pledge his future to the club on the final day of the season and publicly flirting with European champions Barcelona.
Moratti was recently spotted having dinner with Barca chief Joan Laporta, however, the oil magnate insists no offers have come in as yet.
“I have read about swap deals for [Samuel] Eto’o, but Laporta didn’t let on anything,” Moratti confessed to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“But he did ask whether ‘Ibra’ truly has a bad temper, as he was told. And if he argues with his team-mates and the fans.
“In turn, he said that Eto’o is very strong on the pitch, but he is quite a strange character. Barca don’t need to sell him at all costs and that’s exactly my stance on Ibra. Besides, there are no offers at present and we hope he will stay put.”
Inter are said to be close to signing Portuguese duo Ricardo Carvalho and Deco from Chelsea, while Maicon feels he is being neglected by the club and has reportedly been targeted by Real Madrid.
“The coach has asked for Deco and Carvalho and we have moved to satisfy him,” admitted Moratti.
“We would like to sign them both and I have seen that the players’ desire is to come here, too. We have yet to reach an agreement, but we will find it soon.
“As for Maicon, he will stay. Sometimes declarations are suggested or directly made by agents. The player has not told us anything.”

Jorge Valdano: Real Madrid Cannot Match Barcelona’s Bid For David Villa
The ‘Casa Blanca’ director has given an overview of the remainder of the club’s transfer plans, including the chances of securing 'El Guaje' and others...
16 Jun 2009 01:51:26
Real Madrid rarely concede defeat, especially to their ferocious foes Barcelona, but the club’s director-general, Jorge Valdano, has admitted that they can’t compete with the Catalans to sign David Villa from Valencia.
The Blaugrana are reportedly set to make an official €50 million offer, €40m in cash plus Martin Caceres and Bojan Krkic (on loan), a proposal that easily outmatches Los Blancos’ €25 million plus Alvaro Negredo bid.
And Valdano, a former Valencia coach, has advised his old club to take up the deal.
“If Barca are prepared to offer €50 million, including Bojan and Caceres, for Villa, I would sell if I were Valencia, because we would not be able to arrive at that figure nor are we going to push it,” he said in an interview with Onda Cero and Radio Marca.
“We have been negotiating over the past week, but there were disagreements. It was mainly about money, but later on, there was also the issue of a including a player in the deal and that was causing an inflation.
“Everything seemed to be well on track but in the end, it all went astray.”
Two other players who have been strongly linked with a move to the Bernabeu as a fall-back plan for Villa, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Diego Forlan, also look unlikely to pull on the famous white jersey next season, as Valdano dismissed rumours that he is tracking them.
He confessed, “We have two or three different alternatives, but they are not either one of those two players.”
Midfield
Things are not looking any brighter for Valdano and Madrid on the Xabi Alonso and Franck Ribery front, as the director admitted to complications in pulling off either deal.
“[Zinedine] Zidane speaks wonders of Ribery, and there was an interest at some point,” he revealed. “But that’s a difficult issue now because they [Bayern Munich] are setting astronomical figures as they have no intentions of selling him.
“As for Xabi, his club, Liverpool, have already released an official notice and it would be very difficult to see him move to Real Madrid. We made an effort to sign him a few years ago. We spoke to Real Sociedad but when I left, the interest faded away.
“And as for David Silva… I don’t know what to do with Valencia. I have read that he is intransferable.”
Defence
The main worry now for most Madrid fans is that the club have yet to make any strides to strengthen one of their weak points last season: the back line. But Valdano assured that they are very much working on it.
He said, “We are worried about some positions, but we still have two and a half months to analyse what we need and what we already have. The coach [Manuel Pellegrini] also has a say in things.
“[Ezequiel] Garay has already been signed. He will join us for the pre-season and Pellegrini will decide whether or not he stays. He is definitely an interesting player."
Finally, Valdano justified the club’s mammoth €94m bid for Cristiano Ronaldo - which followed the €68m signing of Kaka - before he went on to hit back at Barca chief Joan Laporta.
“These signings are agreed upon because the strategy of the club takes us to them,” he remarked.
“There’s no need to ask Pellegrini, ‘What do you think of Cristiano? Does he adapt to your style?’ It goes without saying. Florentino makes the coach happy with these signings.
“All this talk from Barca about imperialism and distorting the market is just in bad taste. These are really good players and I can’t be bothered talking about the economic side of things, other than to say that it will produce an incredible effect.
“The Italian and English football market seemed impoverished, so these signings are going to be suitable for all the leagues.”

A statement on the official club website last night revealed that Valencia's central-defender Raul Albiol, 23, will be presented as Real Madrid's latest signing next week after the two clubs agreed a €15m (£12.8m) fee.
They miss...
Neill in limbo
Lucas Neill may find himself out in the cold, having performed a U-turn and decided he wants to sign a new contract with West Ham United after all. Hammers manager Gianfranco Zola was not enamoured with the Australian captain after he turned down the club's request to take a cut of more than 50 per cent on his £60,000-a-week wages. Zola is considering moving for an alternative full-back.
Burdisso rules out switch
Internazionale centre-back Nicolas Burdisso has distanced himself from reports linking him to Chelsea. "My wish is to remain at Inter. I have no intention to change team," he said.
Rovers cool on Crouch
Blackburn Rovers have decided that an £11m deal for Peter Crouch as replacement for Roque Santa Cruz is not viable. Crouch's Portsmouth salary – £70,000 a week – is the obstacle, not the transfer fee.
The daily round up of Spanish news speculation has been collected and the best one that we have come across is that Liverpool and Arsenal are both in a bidding war for the same player and that the figures mentioned are big.
Now when they say big they are talking between £15 million and £20 million and while the name of the player was not mentioned on Spanish radio it is believed to be a Valencia player
The reporter said that he has been told by a reliable source that Liverpool and Arsenal have both made bids for the same player and when pressed he said that it is not a player from Barcelona, Real Madrid or Sevilla, when pressed even further on if it was Valencia, he just said no comment and let out a laugh.
Some easy deduction means that it is either Silva or Mata that is the player that they are bidding for, however by all accounts Silva is heading for Real Madrid if recent reports in the British papers are to be believed.
So it seems that Juan Mata is the target and the figures of between £15 and £20 million make sense
Be interesting to see how these two debt ridden clubs can afford to bid so high and who will end up with him.

Man City closing in on Barcelona’s Eto’o
26.06.09 | Andrew Slevison
Manchester City are believed to be closing in on Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o.
The Spanish giants have made an offer for Valencia’s David Villa meaning they might be preparing for life without the Cameroon star.
It is believed that City are the only club prepared to pay £30 million for Eto’o which would give Barcelona some breathing space to make a £37 million bid for Villa.

Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure has signed a one-year contract extension with the European champions.
Toure's new deal ties him to the club until 2012 and includes a new buy-out clause of €100million (85m).
The 26-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester City, but he is now set to stay at the Camp Nou.
"What's important is to play at a great club and Barca is the club in which I want to play. This is the shirt in which I want to play," said Toure on the club's official website.

Fulham are closing in on an £11million deal for England striker Peter Crouch after agreeing to sell Bobby Zamora to Hull.
Manager Roy Hodgson hopes to sign the Portsmouth star when he returns from holiday next week - beating off competition from Sunderland and AC Milan.
Zamora's £6million transfer to Hull was the key as it enabled Fulham to match Portsmouth's valuation for 28-year-old Crouch.
He would prefer to move to London rather than Sunderland - despite a more lucrative package on offer. But he will still agree a deal worth around £75,000 a week at Craven Cottage.
Crouch's agent Jonathan Barnett claimed yesterday that Portsmouth's financial problems mean a deal is inevitable. He said: 'I think Portsmouth have financial problems. I think every player is available.
'You would have to speak to Portsmouth to see if they are willing to sell Peter. He does not feel he has been let down, though.
'He is a Portsmouth player, he likes the club and thinks a lot of (executive chairman) Peter Storrie and (caretaker manager) Paul Hart.
'If Portsmouth were to receive an offer from somebody then we would have to listen to it.'
Sportsmail exclusively revealed Fulham's interest in Crouch last month but the London club were unable to raise the cash required until agreeing to sell Zamora.
AC Milan's interest in Crouch is genuine but only if they fail to sign Luis Fabiano from Sevilla.
Hull manager Phil Brown will be delighted to sign Zamora after his failure to land Fraizer Campbell.
He said: 'We've been active with regards to Fulham. There is a firm and substantial bid on the table for Bobby Zamora. I'm waiting to hear from my chairman for the next step.'

Damien Duff Signs
Fulham Football Club is delighted to announce that Damien Duff becomes the Club’s third signing of the summer having put pen to paper today on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee, which will see the player at the Club until the summer of 2012.
The 30-year-old midfielder joins the Club from Newcastle United where he signed in July 2006.
He made his debut for Blackburn Rovers against Leicester City on the final day of the 1996-97 season at the age of just 18. Duff helped Blackburn regain promotion back to the Premier League in 2000 when the side was relegated a year earlier and he helped Rovers to League Cup victory in 2002 when the team beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in the final.
Duff went on to make 185 appearances for Blackburn and his impressive form earned him a £17m move to Chelsea in 2003 which was a club record at the time. He made his international debut for Republic of Ireland in 1998 and has made 75 appearances for his country.

Chelsea have swooped for the Serbian youngster...
Chelsea have signed 20 year-old Serbian Nemanja Matic for €1.75 million (£1.5m) from MFK Kosice, according to the Slovakian outfit's president.
MFK president Blazej Podolak told the club's official website, "At around 17:00 we signed the contract on the transfer.
"The success was down to the the fact that the money does not come in instalments, but immediately."
Matic was a part of the Serbian Under-21 squad that competed in this year's European Championships in Sweden, and he has been tracked by a number of Europe's leading clubs.
It is believed that the midfielder has penned a four-year deal at Stamford Bridge.
