Arsenal ready to replace Gallas with £10 million Spurs and Liverpool target

Arsenal are ready to replace William Gallas with Fulham defender Brede Hangeland once the January transfer window opens. Gallas looks set to leave the Emirates after a turbulent last month at the North London club which has seen him lose his captaincy after a public outburst at the rest of the Arsenal squad.

Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan have both been linked with the French defender, however as yet neither side have made their interest known. With Gallas likely to depart, it leaves Arsene Wenger short a centre-back and Fulham defender Brede Hangeland could be the man to step in.

The big Norwegian international has been strongly linked with a move away from Craven Cottage in recent weeks with the likes of Liverpool and Tottenham also interested. His performances in recent weeks have been outstanding, most notably against Liverpool and Aston Villa were Hangeland helped his side keep clean sheets in both games.

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson has admitted it may be tough to hold onto the 27-year old in January should the likes of Arsenal come knocking. "If a serious offer comes our way for Brede I'm pretty sure it'll have to be considered ... When the day comes we'll have to take into account all the possibilities and probabilities and make a decision ... But at this stage we have absolutely no indication that Arsenal or any club of that stature are interested in Brede."

It is understood that Arsenal will need to bid somewhere around the £10 million mark to have any chance of landing the former FC Copenhagen man. Personally I think Hangeland would be a magnificent signing for Arsenal. He has proved this season that he can certainly perform at the highest level and I feel most Gunners fans would be happy to see him arrive in January.

Arsenal will need to pay more than £3 million to sign Hangeland, but you won't. Yes the 6ft 5in defender costs just that in this season's "You the Manager" and in my view is well worth a look. So follow the link below to enter your team to be in with a chance of winning some terrific weekly and monthly prizes.

Transfer Rumors (11 Dec 08): City prepare Torres bid, Serb duo in Manchester, Zaki staying at Wigan, and more

Manchester City to Make 50m Torres Bid?

Regardless of the fact that Liverpool don’t want to sell Fernando Torres no matter what is thrown at them, he still somehow ends up in the gossip pages. Doesn’t hurt to try, right?

Zaki Not Leaving Wigan in January

Amr Zaki may be drawing interest from some of Europe’s best (and Manchester City), but Steve Bruce is putting his foot down and saying that his on-loan star isn’t going anywhere in January.

Tosic and Ljajic Set to Sign On at United

Partizan Belgrade duo Zoran Tosic and Adem Ljajic have flown to England to undergo medicals at Manchester United. Tosic may join his new club right off the bat in January, while Ljajic looks set to stay at Partizan for at least the remainder of the season.

Agger to AC Milan? Maybe, Maybe Not

Liverpool’s Daniel Agger has been heavily linked with AC Milan in the last couple of days, but how viable is the speculation? I’m sure we’ll hear something different tomorrow, but here’s what his agent says today.

Alex Wants Out of Chelsea

I don’t think Luiz Felipe Scolari will object too much to this transfer request, but we’ll have to see. A commenter said he’d be a good fit at Arsenal - what do you think?

Tottenham to Make Warnock Bid?

Newcastle have been looking like the most likely destination for Blackburn defender Stephen Warnock, if he was to leave the club anytime soon, but Warnock has now emerged as a target to take over Tottenham’s left back position. His name’s certainly much less of a mouthful than Benoit Assou-Ekotto, that’s for sure. Half the name, twice the game, I say.

Bellamy to Leave West Ham for Celtic?

Craig Bellamy had a highly successful loan spell at Celtic in the 2004/05 season, and he could be set for a return to the club in January, if reports of a 5m bid come to fruition.

Pazzini to Replace Bellamy at Upton Park?

Fiorentina striker Giampaolo Pazzini has been linked with West Ham, and his manager says he won’t be opposed to letting him move to the Premier League. But are the Hammers even interested in him?

Another Spaniard for Newcastle?

We all know Liverpool love their Spanish players, but Joe Kinnear could be looking to add another one to his ranks, in Real Betis captain Juanito.

Watford’s Smith Set for Step Up?

Stoke are reportedly interested in Watford striker Tommy Smith, but Watford won’t let him go for pennies, according to the Daily Mail.

Liverpool & United FIGHT for £8million Spurs STAR

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s Gareth Bale is a wanted man.

Harry Redknapp is looking for a new left-back to add to his White Hart Lane squad in the New Year, with Stephen Warnock of Blackburn Rovers being the latest name linked.

This places a question mark over the head of Wales international Bale, who has struggled for injury and form since signing from Southampton last summer in a deal which could yet cost £10million.

It is being reported that both Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on the 19-year-old, with bids in the region of £8million set to be tabled when the January window opens.

Buffon seeks £250,000-a-week for Man City move

Manchester City will have to pay Gianluigi Buffon wages of £250,000-a-week to prise the world's best goalkeeper away from Juventus.

The Daily Mail claim that City would also have to pay a transfer fee of £20 million for the 30-year-old Italian international.

The super-expensive transfer is thought to be a 'statement signing' by the club's new billionaire owners, the Abu Dhabi royal family, who shocked football by signing Robinho during the summer transfer window.

City manager Mark Hughes is believed to have endorsed the transfer - on condition Buffon proves his fitness after missing a month of Serie A action with a groin injury - and would welcome the World Cup winner into his squad.

However, last month Buffon, who currently earns £90,000-a-week at the Stadio Olimpico, dismissed City as a fantasy football club.

"Manchester City? I played fantasy football when I was young, now I only like to think about real football," he told firenzeviola.it.

Robbie Keane misses his wife and London and could be on his way from London back to Tottenham if reports are correct.

You know silly season has begun when Stewart Downing is linked with a move to Tottenham. Happy silly season.

Arsenal are likely going to make some changes this January - they have to right? But I don't see them spending £50m for Valencia's David Villa. Now Manchester City might...

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes would love to be reunited with Roque Santa Cruz and Blackburn know it. That's why they've up their asking price for the striker.

City and Real Madrid could be chasing a lot of players this winter, including Portsmouth midfielder Lassana Diarra.

Arsenal may be looking for a trade if they let William Gallas move on to Juventus. That would come in the form of Giorgio Chiellini.

If they can't get him, Arsenal could stay in the Serie A and try to bring in Philippe Mexes from AS Roma.

Alexandre Pato has been a joy to watch in Serie A - and I don't say that about many - and now the AC Milan star is at least being linked with Arsenal in some places.

Every club in the world would love to have a talent like Ashley Young - and Aston Villa knows it. Doesn't mean that Real Madrid won't try hard to steer him away.

Emile Heskey will be free to go wherever he wishes this summer - so there is a chance that Wigan Athletic might try to cash in on him now - which could put Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Aston Villa on the chase.

Arsenal and Aston Villa could face competition if they are interested in signing Standard Liege midfielder Steven Defour - it is thought that as many as 23 clubs could be interested.

Real Madrid are going to be major players this January - there's nothing shocking there - but maybe it's a little bit of a surprise to know they are looking at Boro starlet Adam Johnson.

Arsenal and Tottenham are said to be interested in Fulham defender Brede Hangeland, but the American-born Norwegian insists he wants to stay at the Cottage.

Dutch midfielder keen on Premier League move

Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea were put on alert last night as it appears that Dutch midfielder Mark van Bommel is eager to test himself in the Premier League.

The ex Barcelona midfielder who is in the last six months of his current deal at Bayern Munich is wanted by his old club PSV, however the Dutch team's director Jan Reker is convinced that any hopes they may have in re-signing van Bommel will be scuppered, if one of the Premier League's big four was to make a move.

"His club Bayern Munich want to become the German champions, they will not let him go during the winter break," PSV director Jan Reker told Studio Voetbal.

"But reports that Mark isn't interested in a new PSV adventure are untrue.

"Van Bommel never said 'no' to PSV, but if he can join a big club in England, like Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester United, he will go there."

The Dutch are always known for their upfront honesty and it's clear that on this occasion that van Bommel clearly wants to try his hand in the Premier League. I'm certain there would be no shortage of takers given the talents of this hard tackling, dynamic midfielder and despite Reker's claims that Munich will not be willing to sell the Dutchman in January, the likelihood is that should a bid be forthcoming in January then the German side, given the economic crisis, are unlikely to turn it down.

Would any of the big four take a chance on van Bommel or at 31 is he past his best?

The latest gossip, rumours and damned lies

Kaka to Manchester City
According to “sources at Eastlands”, Manchester City are confident of landing Kaka in the summer and are already planning on how to best fit him into the side. City believe Kaka could be convinced to play alongside countryman Robinho - can you guess how they might persuade him?
The Spoiler Truth-o-meter: Kaka is actually wanted at Milan and you’d imagine the devout Christian would have enough dignity and morals not to simply chase the dollar, Robinho-style.

Nicklas Bendtner to Inter Milan
Jose Mourinho is interested in taking Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner to Italy according to The Times.
The Spoiler Truth-o-meter: Surely ‘the Special One’ has seen Bendtner play before??

Liverpool exodus
Ryan Babel and Daniel Agger are reportedly wanted by Juventus. Real Madrid, who have been linked with every midfielder in England, are apparently after Xabi Alonso.
The Spoiler Truth-o-meter: With Robbie Keane’s departure imminent according to Lawro, it is doubtful Benitez will let too many other players leave in January.

Martin Jol back to England
Ex Spurs boss Martin Jol has said he won’t rule out returning to management in England. After a successful start to his spell at Hamburg, Jol is unsure how far he can take Hamburg with such tight financial controls, as he looks set to lose striker Ivica Olic to Bayern Munich.

The Spoiler Truth-o-meter: Aside from Redknapp, Jol is the most successful Spurs manager over the last 12 years (42% win rate) so Blackburn and Sunderland might well consider him.

Report: Valencia Tell Manchester City Villa Will Cost £120 Million

panish club Valencia have warned Premier League money-men Manchester City that David Villa will cost £120m (€127m), according to a report in the British tabloid the Daily Mirror.

It is claimed that the Citizens' executive chairman Garry Cook had organised a meeting to negotiate a deal between the two clubs for the Spanish international.

While the Blues were willing to offer over £40m (€43m) for the 27-year-old, which would have been a British transfer record, Los Che insisted he would be going nowhere for less than triple that amount.

The news comes as a huge blow to Manchester City, who had hoped that Valencia would be willing to do business given their reported financial difficulties at present.

It is also thought that while Villa has been City manager Mark Hughes' number one transfer target following a successful Euro 2008, the former Real Zaragoza forward is interested in the move himself.

However, following these revelations, it is claimed that Manchester City are ready to forget David Villa and focus on more realistic targets.

Agüero Wants To Stay At Atlético For Life - Cerezo

tlético Madrid president, Enrique Cerezo, has said that he thinks Sergio Agüero wants to stay at the club for life, and that they could have signed David Silva in the summer...

tlético Madrid might have had a miserable start to the season, but the Champions League side have certainly finished it in style.

Los Rojiblancos have bounced back from losses to Sevilla, Barcelona and Real Madrid to finish the year third in the league, and still in Europe.

Typically though, rumours have started about Sergio Agüero leaving the club to pursue new goals this winter. However, president, Enrique Cerezo insisted he doesn't think the player will be going anywhere.

"I believe that Kun wants to be here for life, and we want that too. Players play where they want to play, and he wants to play for Atlético," he declared to Marca.

Glen Johnson is set to leave Portsmouth, with a January move to Liverpool for £9million already in place, according to The People.

Rafael Benitez is understood to be keen to bring Johnson to Anfield to provide competition for Alvaro Arbeloa. With Philipp Degen out injured, Liverpool have been playing Jamie Carragher at right-back.

Johnson was absent from the Portsmouth squad when they were beaten by West Ham for the first time in the Premier League on Boxing day.

Liverpool Boss Benitez Linked With Deportivo La Coruna Winger

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reportedly looking to bring in Deportivo La Coruna winger Angel Lafita during the January transfer window while the out-of-favour wideman Jermaine Pennant is linked with a move out of Anfield.

It looks like former England U-21 international Pennant, who has seen few starting opportunities at the Merseyside club this season, could be sold in the New Year with Real Madrid and Wigan Athletic said to be interested in the former Arsenal and Birmingham City player.

Reds manager Benitez meanwhile, is linked with Lafita and reports claim that the Spanish tactician sent chief scout Eduardo Macia to watch Lafita several times this season. He has reportedly already made some sort of a contact with the former Real Zaragoza man’s representatives.

The winger who joined Deportivo this summer has been attracting the attention from several other clubs like Manchester United, West Ham United and Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea challenge Liverpool for striker signing
Published by Amaresh on December 28, 2008

Chelsea could make a surprise move for England and Wigan striker Emile Heskey in January.

Yesterday Blues coach Ray Wilkins admitted the club could look to add depth to that position in case Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba should get injured.

Heskey, who has been courted by many Premier League sides since getting back in the England team, could be available in a cut-price deal as his contract at the Latics runs out in the summer.

Chelsea could help fund that move by selling French winger Florent Malouda who is apparently a target for Bayern Munich. The Germans are willing to pay £8 million which would represent a loss of £5 million for the Blues.

Report: Marseille's Hatem Ben Arfa A Chelsea Target

Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari is weighing up making an offer for Marseille midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa in the January transfer window, according to a report in the British tabloid the Daily Mirror.

It is claimed that the Brazilian tactician is looking to bring in a creative player in order to improve the Blues' home record in the Premier League, following four draws and two defeats at Stamford Bridge this season.

21-year-old Ben Arfa has apparently been identified as the type of player who fits the bill and could now be subject of a €10.2 million (£10 million) bid from the Blues.

The French international, who has scored one goal from seven caps, only joined Les Phocéens from Lyon this summer in a deal worth €9.7 m (£9.5 m) so it remains to be seen whether they will part with the left-sided midfielder.

Frank Ribéry has revealed that his dream is to play for one of Europe's richest clubs - and he believes that he is a similar player to Lionel Messi in the way that both can influence a game.

The French international is enjoying his spell with Bayern Munich, but has told Kicker that he dreams of joining the likes of Barcelona, Real Madird, Manchester United or Chelsea.

When Ribéry chose to join Bayern in the summer of 2007, that move caused a stir, while injury at Euro 2008 prevented any of the continent's biggest spenders from making an approach.

"Bayern is obviously one of the biggest and best clubs in the world," he said. "Obviously there are other clubs who would be a dream: Real Madrid and Barcelona, Chelsea and Manchester United.

"I certainly love Real Madrid because of their great tradition, but I feel happy here at Bayern. We will have to wait and see what the future holds."
His revelation that he would like to play for Spain's or England's finest may not be a surprise - and nor will the comparison to Messi, even if Ribéry made it himself.

Ferguson will not buy in January

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said he will not be adding to his squad in the transfer window.

"I do not think there will be any January transfers, I am happy with what I have got," he said.

"We are probably going to bring back a couple of young players who have been on loan. That may just give us extra protection," he added.

"We took 23 players to Japan and they are substantial players. I would be happy to play any one of them."

United won the World Club Cup in Yokohama on Sunday by beating LDU Quito 1-0 in the final.

Ferguson added: "Winning the competition was a great boost to the club and the players. It was a great achievement and the important thing was they played well.

"They showed good enthusiasm through the matches and good concentration. We have come through it well."

Ferguson's only signing during the summer's transfer window was striker Dimitar Berbatov, who cost £30m from Tottenham.

Arsenal plan record bid to sign Manchester United star Carlos Tevez

ARSENAL are lining up a stunning bid for Manchester United’s loan star Carlos Tevez.

Friends of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger claim he is confident of brokering a deal that will shatter Arsenal’s £11million transfer record for Sylvain Wiltord and lure the Argentine star to the Emirates next summer.

Tevez, 24, joined United on a two-year loan deal costing £5million in the summer of 2007. His Old Trafford deal runs out next June. United have still not ratified a permanent Tevez deal that will cost them £32million.

Following the arrival of Dimitar Berbatov from Tottenham in a £31million deal last summer, Tevez has fallen down the Old Trafford pecking order.

There have been suggestions that United are cooling on a permanent Tevez deal. Real Madrid have already taken note of that scenario.

Tevez will discuss his future with adviser Kia Joorabchian – who is an executive box holder at the Emirates.

£20m striker linked with Spanish move

Roque Santa Cruz could be on his way to Real Madrid, according to the player's father.
Blackburn's Paraguayan striker has frequently been linked with a move away, with Manchester City said to be keen.

But Spanish giants Real have now been put into the mix with Juande Ramos at the helm.

Santa Cruz's dad, Aproniano, claims the former Bayern Munich star, 27, is keen to move to a big club, but insists there has been no official approach from the Spanish giants.

Quoted in The Sun, he said: "There is nothing official from Real Madrid but it is logical that Roque is being linked to another club,

"If the chance appears and Blackburn agree to let him go I believe he would prefer to sign for a team who are fighting for the Champions League or a domestic title."

Manager fury over £25m winger link

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has warned Real Madrid not to try to poach his England winger Ashley Young.
The Spanish giants are being repeatedly linked with a £25million move for 23-year-old Young and O'Neill fears it is the start of a campaign to unsettle the player, The News of the World says.

Real used the same tactics in their bid to lure Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United last season but Sir Alex Ferguson won that battle of wills.

And O'Neill is sure he will hang on to Young — and all of his outstanding English players.

£16m bid for Tottenham target

Aston Villa are preparing to make a £16m bid for Portsmouth striker Jermain Defoe.
The former Tottenham and West Ham target is likely to be sold in the January transfer window by cash-strapped Pompey.

And Aston Villa emerged as the favourites to sign the England striker with a £16m deal, according to the Daily Mail.

Tottenham had been targeting Defoe for a return to White Hart Lane, who they sold in the last January window.

Arsenal

Arsenal are set to bid for Mikael Arteta, as midfield cover for Cesc Fabregas. Everton could use the money to boost their squad. Xabi Alonso and Andrei Arshavin are also high on his list, while a defender is also a priority,e specially if William Gallas leaves.

Arsene Wenger: “If we do buy I think what we need is maybe someone with a bit experience. If we buy it will be somebody who is ready to play straight away. A loan deal could also be a possibility.”

War chest: £20-£40m.

Targets: Mikael Arteta (Everton, cost: £12m), Xabi Alonso (Liverpool, £14m), Andrei Arshavin (Zenit St Petersburg, £20m), Matthew Upson (West Ham, £10m).

Liverpool

With Liverpool top and aiming for their first ever Premier League title, Rafael Benitez wants to add to his squad, especially as Jermaine Pennant is set to leave. Re-signing Emile Heskey would not be as outrageous as it sounds.

Rafael Benitez: “As always, we are monitoring players and we have some names, but we have to talk with the owners and analyse what we can do and what we cannot. The price when you ask about some players is too much. Everyone is asking for big money.”

War chest: Funds generated by sales.

Targets: Emile Heskey (Wigan, £4m).

Manchester City

This is were the fun starts. The new owners only arrived at the end of the summer window and quickly made their mark, funding the £32.5m arrival of Robinho. Mark Hughes seems to have the pick of the world’s best players and that bonus could spark a financial merry-go-round out of keeping with the financial climate in the real world.

Mark Hughes: “There is an assumption that we will stimulate the market, that the money sloshing around will be from the deals that we have started, but we have to make sure we protect the club as well.”

War chest: Unlimited. :-?

Targets: Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich, £5m), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus, £20m), (Craig Bellamy (West Ham, £10m), Roque Santa Cruz (Blackburn, £16m), Blaise Matuidi (St Etienne, £10m).

Man Utd

It will be a quiet window for Sir Alex Ferguson, who plans to add only Serbian winger Zoran Tosic, 21, and his 19-year-old Partizan Belgrade team-mate Adam Ljajic (known as 'Little Kaka’) to his squad. United should also purchase Carlos Tevez’s contract from Media Sports Investments, and offer Ji-Sung Park another contract.

Sir Alex Ferguson: "I do not think there will be any January transfers, I am happy with what I have got."

War Chest: £45m

Targets: Carlos Tevez (from MSI, £30m), Zoran Tosic and Adam Ljajic (both Partizan Belgrade, £13m combined).

Chelsea

There may be little movement but if Wayne Bridge and Alex are sold then Luiz Felipe Scolari may consider bringing some extra bodies in. Originally, Scolari suggested he wanted another striker but chief executive Peter Kenyon has insisted the club’s squad is strong enough.

Luiz Felipe Scolari: “Peter Kenyon is my boss and if he says that this is the philosophy, it is OK, it is finished.”

War chest: Funds generated by sales.

Targets: Tuncay Sanli (Middlesbrough, £16m), Amr Zaki (El Zamalek, £10m), Vagner Love (CSKA Moscow, £12m), Luis Fabiano (Sevilla, £20m).

Ex-Anfield star Luis Garcia poised for Premier League return
Jan 1 2009 by James Pearce, Liverpool Echo

FORMER Liverpool midfielder Luis Garcia looks set to return to the Premier League during the January transfer window.

The 30-year-old has found his first team opportunities limited at Atletico Madrid this season and they are willing to let him go out on loan.

Tottenham, Blackburn and Portsmouth are all believed to be interested in snapping up a player who scored 30 goals in 121 appearances for the Reds.

Garcia was signed by Rafa Benitez for £6m from Barcelona in 2004, and he proved to be the man for the big occasion.

Although sometimes wasteful in possession, Garcia's goalscoring exploits in the Reds' run to the Champions League final in 2005 made him a Kop hero.

He scored one of the goals of the season in the 2-1 win at Anfield against Juventus, and went on to score the winner against Chelsea in the semi-final.

A cruciate ligament injury forced him to sit out half of the 2006/7 season and he returned to Spain for around £4m in 2007.

Garcia made 28 appearances in his first season back, scoring twice.

Villa Join Liverpool in Heskey Chase

Wigan Athletic and England striker Emile Heskey is the subject of renewed interest from Aston Villa after it became apparent that Villa striker John Carew will be out for at least another two months.

Martin O`Neill sees the big man as the perfect replacement with Heskey having power, pace and strength just like Carew and O`Neill knows all about Heskey from their time together at Leicester City but Villa face competition from Liverpool

Rafa Benitez is determined to take Heskey back to Merseyside and the big pulling power is Champions League football, a return to the club that he supported as a lad and where he had his most productive time as a goal scorer could also help sway Heskeys decision.

Latics are rumoured to be willing to deal at around £4 million and that figure wont break the bank for either club so it looks like either who gets in first or does Heskey fancy reuniting with O`Neill at Villa or reuniting with Liverpool.

Hull City target Liverpool FC winger Jermaine Pennant
Jan 1 2009 By Gareth Bicknell

Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant is a target for Premier League surprise package Hull City.

Pennant has been heavily linked with a move to Spanish champions Real Madrid in one of the most surprising developments of the January transfer window.

Yet with that transfer still seeming unlikely, other clubs have been alerted to the former Arsenal player’s potential availability.

Wigan, Tottenham and Stoke have all been linked to the 25-year-old, who has failed to impress in two-and-a-half years at Anfield, and now Hull have revealed their interest.

Manager Phil Brown said: "I would be very interested in Jermaine Pennant if he was available at the right price. We will be making enquiries."

A move for Pennant this month would come 10 years after Arsenal made headlines by paying Notts County £2m for the then 15-year-old.

He failed to fulfil his potential with the Gunners and later joined Birmingham before his £6.7m switch to Liverpool.

Hull are looking to strengthen during the transfer window to consolidate their position in the top half of the Premier League.

The Tigers have also been linked with Wigan midfielder Michael Brown but Phil Brown has denied making an approach.

He said: "We have got a number of irons in the fire, but just because the transfer window opens, doesn’t mean to say everyone jumps into business straight away.

"A lot of these windows start with the big boys, and once they start to do their dealings everyone else follows suit. We have got certain targets earmarked."

City, Liverpool & Chelsea on alert as Valencia are prepared to listen to offers

Valencia have sparked a transfer scramble among Premier League clubs after admitting they will consider offers for star striker David Villa.

The Spain international is one of the hottest striking talents in Europe but, with the La Liga club currently struggling with rising debts, he could be offloaded in the transfer window should they receive a "exorbitant offer."

The 27-year-old hitman has previously been linked with £30million moves to Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Villa's team-mate for club and country, David Silva, could also be on his way out of the Mestalla this month, according to Valencia's vice-president Fernando Gomez Colomer.

The Spain winger has been linked with Arsenal and Manchester United in the past.

"Whatever offer comes in we will have to study it, although the idea is not to have to sell David Villa or David Silva," revealed Colomer.

"It would have to be an exorbitant offer."

Pemain Malaysia ni bukannya tak leh main kat EPL....semua manager club EPL tak tau camna nak manipulasi depa.....caranya mudah saja...

Bagi depa ni warm-up tepi padang 45 minit first half....pastu 40 minit lagi second half, bila dah panas, kasi depa main 5 minit....gerenti kalau tak hebat dari Park-Ginseng pun, setakat Fabregas tu celah gigi depa ja :))

Spurs midfielder to arrive at Anfield this month?

Tottenham midfielder Aaron Lennon has today been linked with a move to Liverpool. The England international is believed to be one of Rafa Benitez' number one target's for the January transfer window, however Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to hold onto the pacey winger.

Lennon has previously been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with former Spurs boss Juande Ramos understood to want him at Real Madrid. The 21-year has in recent months begun to show something like his best form and Liverpool are desperate to bring him to Merseyside during this transfer window.

I have always thought Lennon was a decent player who had the potential to become a great one. Lennon, undoubtedly has bags of ability and pace, however he annoys me at times with his final ball. He gets into promising positions in every match but he never really takes full advantage of the position. Having said that, I do think, should Liverpool sign him for around the £14 million mark, he would prove value for money.

Liverpool LEGEND set for MLS move?
06:40 January, 5, 2009
Robbie Fowler is wanted by MLS side Chicago Fire.

The former England international is a free agent after being released from his short-term contract with Blackburn Rovers, and he has received few offers since.

A legend during his time at Liverpool when he 120 goals in 236 league games, Fowler is believed to be interested in ending his career in the United States.

Reports in The People claim Chicago Fire are willing to offer him a chance to pit his wits in the MLS, but they can only offer £6,000-per-week which is a far cry from his Premier League wage.

Spurs agree £15m fee to buy back Defoe
Jermain Defoe is heading back to Tottenham Hotspur after a £15m fee for the Portsmouth striker has was agreed.

The 26-year-old striker joined Portsmouth from Spurs less than a year ago in a £7.5m fee. Portsmouth are said to still owe the bulk of that fee to the White Hart Lane club as well as some cash for Younes Kaboul, who headed to Fratton Park in the summer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Pompey chief executive Peter Storrie have negotiated a deal which will see Pompey receive additional cash, yielding them a significant profit on a player who has been in great form for them in his eleven months on the South Coast.

Harry Redknapp, who bought Defoe for Portsmouth before his September defection to North London, is also in for winger Stewart Downing, who has had a transfer request rejected by Middlesbrough.

He is closer to signing free agent Stephen Appiah, who is training with Spurs this week.

The 28-year-old, released by Fenerbahce in the summer, has suffered knee injuries in the past, but Redknapp is confident that will not be a problem and is hoping to arrange a deal.

After the sale of Defoe and Lassana Diarra for £20m to Real Madrid, it remains to be seen whether Tony Adams, Redknapp's successor at Portsmouth, will be given the money to spend.

Man City make Kaka bid

Manchester City have opened talks with Italian side AC Milan over a possible world record transfer bid of £100 million for Brazilian playmaker Kaka.

A City delegation led by chief executive Garry Cook flew to Italy on Tuesday to begin negotiations and are reported to be willing to pay Kaka a weekly wage of £250,000 or £13.65 million per season.

Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi could only claim he was "hopeful" that Kaka would remain at the San Siro and sources claimed that City want the 26-year-old "at all costs".

While there was no official word from Eastlands, Berlusconi's assessment suggests the transfer may go through.

Mediaset, a company owned by Berlusconi, reported: "This time they (Manchester City) are here for real with an official delegation''

"Manchester City want Kaka at all costs and they have shown their cards. Garry Cook, two representatives of Sheik Mansour and Kia Joorabchian, who is acting as a mediator, met with Adriano Galliani and Ernesto Bronzetti (Milan's chief executive and commercial director) and made their offer," said the report.

It has been suggested that the visit of Newcastle United on January 28 has been pencilled in as a potential debut day for the former world footballer of the year, deposed by Cristiano Ronaldo on Monday.

Whilst City remain in a relegation dogfight, the prospect of seeing Kaka in action will excite every Blues fan.

Yet Hughes insists he is not a fan of the transfer window, which could yet lead one of the world's biggest names to his club.

"I don't particularly like the transfer window because you have to wait to address things that could be sorted out a lot more quickly under the old system," Hughes told the Manchester Evening News.

"I am sure there were reasons behind bringing in a transfer window in the first place but I cannot fathom what they were.

"There have been weaknesses in our squad for quite some time and I have not had the opportunity to address them.

"Now we get to January and prices are inflated and the expectations are heightened. I don't think it is a healthy situation."

Cook has now returned to Manchester and will await permission to talk with Kaka. However, one deal that seems to be inching closer is for West Ham's firebrand striker Craig Bellamy.

Hughes has worked with Bellamy twice before and sees the Welshman as a valuable addition to his squad. It seems West Ham are finally on the brink of allowing the player to leave provided City reach their £10million valuation.

Ex-Liverpool defender set for £1.3million City move
08:21 PM 15 January, 2009

Steve Finnan appears to be on his way to Hull City Football Club.

The 32-year-old only moved to Spain in the summer, when he left Premier League giants Liverpool to sign a contract with La Liga side Espanyol.

A series of injuries has prevented Finnan from making an impression in his new surroundings, and it has been reported that a move back to England is on the cards for some time.

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the fullback recently, but reports suggest the Tigers have agreed a £1.3million deal for his signature

Adams flags up £2m bid to take Pennant to Portsmouth

Portsmouth have made a £2million bid for Liverpool winger Jermaine Pennant and hope to open negotiations over the weekend.

Sportsmail revealed last month that Pennant, who turned 26 yesterday, was the subject of a stunning approach from Spanish champions Real Madrid, but the move
broke down over personal terms.

Coach Juande Ramos wanted to revive the deal but was told to consider other targets.
AC Milan have also made an offer to Pennant for the end of the season when he is out of contract.

Pennant, who joined Liverpool for £6.5m in 2006, had been sounded out by Hull City and Wigan but is reluctant to commit himself to a long-term deal and may prefer to agree a loan instead so that he can weigh up his options in the summer.

Portsmouth manager Tony Adams is determined to add to his squad and Pennant’s price falls within his budget as he weighs up another move for Newcastle’s Joey Barton.

Torres tells Kaka: It will be mistake to join Man City

Manchester City is not the right team for Kaka," Torres told the Daily Mail. "Seriously, how can they pay £100m for Kaka?

"Big players want to win trophies and Manchester City is not even in the race for trophies in England. They are fighting to stay in the Premier League, or to get to the middle of the table.

"They have to build from there and then go against the biggest clubs and after that, maybe, a top player will join them.

Juventus Chase Liverpool Duo To Replace Nedved - Reports

Pavel Nedved was expected to hang up his boots next June, but his agent Mino Raiola revealed earlier this week that the 36-year-old could still change his mind and further extend his career.

However, the Corso Galileo Ferraris executives are already scouring the transfer market to find the right man who will be able to fill Nedved’s boots for the long-term at the Stadio Olimpico and La Gazzetta dello Sport claims this morning that director of sport Alessio Secco has already drawn up a shortlist.

Liverpool forwards Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel, capable of playing as wingers or strikers, seem to fit the bill. Kuyt is expected to command a fee of at least €12 million, but Juve consider him one of their primary targets.

The other ready-made option for the Bianconeri could be his competriot Babel, whose price would also well exceed the €10m mark.

News of The World

Andrei Arshavin will complete a record-breaking £17m move to
Arsenal in a deal that will make him the club's highest earner on £96,000 a week.

Jose Mourinho is plotting a sensational raid on Manchester United to take Cristiano Ronaldo to Inter Milan.

Premier League bosses believe they can sidestep the global economic slump by luring American sports channel ESPN to bid alongside Sky and Setanta in the next TV deal.

Manchester City were last night set to hijack Tottenham's bid to sign Honduras midield star Wilson Palacios, matching their £13m offer for the Wigan player.

Blackburn are considering a surprise move to bring Florent Sinama-Pongolle back to the Premier League from Atletico Madrid

Gunners to reject Milan striker bids

Last updated: 1/19/2009 4:34:00 PM
ARESENAL are set to reject any transfer window bids from AC Milan for Emmanuel Adebayor and Robin Van Persie should the Italian giants complete the £100million sale of Kaka to Manchester City this week.

If the Brazilian striker does indeed sign for City then Milan will need a replacement for Kaka, with Arsenal striker Adebayor in particular believed to be top of their wanted list.

But boss Arsene Wenger has warned any potential suitors that bids for Adebayor or Van Persie will be rejected.
